Dr. Trishul Siddharthan is an Associate Professor in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. His work sits at the vital intersection of environmental science and clinical medicine, focusing on how environmental stressors impact human health. Dr. Siddharthan earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Miami before completing his residency and serving as Chief Resident at Yale New Haven Hospital. He subsequently completed his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital. With a global perspective shaped by his time as a Fulbright Scholar and Fogarty Global Health Fellow in East Africa, Dr. Siddharthan investigates the systemic impacts of air pollution. His laboratory explores the complex mechanisms through which airborne pollutants and natural hazards contribute to the development and exacerbation of COPD and asthma across diverse resource settings. By bridging the gap between atmospheric data and patient outcomes, his research seeks to identify how environmental factors shape respiratory health. As a member of the Center, he aims to foster interdisciplinary collaborations that leverage the University’s world-class expertise to tackle the pressing health challenges posed by our changing environment.
