Dr. David A. Davis received his PhD in Pathology from Boston University School of Medicine and completed his post doctorate training in Gerontology at the University of Southern California. He is certified by the American Board of Toxicology and a member of the American Association of Neuropathologists. Dr. Davis’s investigations are centered on the role exposures to environmental toxins and man-made pollutants play in the onset of common neurological illnesses like Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and Lou Gehrig disease (ALS). His current research focuses on the neurotoxic effects of chronic exposure to harmful algal bloom toxins, heavy metals, and microplastics located in the South Florida marine food web. His laboratory utilizes comparative marine mammal and human brain models to evaluate exposure risks and toxicity.
