Shizao Zhang is currently a senior majoring in Marine Biology and Ecology. Driven by a curiosity for biological processes in the ocean, Shizao has ventured into different realms of marine biology such as conservation sciences and marine microbiology. His endeavors have taught him that ocean life is a rich, underexplored library that holds resolutions to humanity’s key concerns, such as stopping infectious diseases. Now, armed with the intellectual toolset vested by his undergraduate career at the Rosenstiel School, he is eager to explore cellular and molecular processes in marine organisms that could be harvested to improve human well-being.
